Hoakalei is Ewa Beach's signature master-planned community, a 726-acre development on former sugarcane land built around the Ernie Els-designed Hoakalei Country Club and the 52-acre Wai Kai recreational lagoon, home to the world's largest deep-water standing surf wave. Newer neighborhoods within Hoakalei include Kipuka, the community's first gated section, Lei Pauku, the most recently built, and Kuapapa, perched above Oneula Beach.
